Songs, Souls, and Gods Amazing Grace
Posted by Serenity on March 1st, 2010By now you’ve faced adversity in one form or another and if you’re reading this, you’ve won. Whether it took the form of cancer, childhood abuse, domestic violence, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you stood toe to toe, through the pain and the thoughts that almost convinced you that you couldn’t stand even one more second, and you stared your own personal adversity down until it was no more.
While I was blessed enough to attend Christian schools when I was younger, I wasn’t crazy about them. I knew God existed and despite my own childhood abuse, I knew someone out there was always worse off than I was. Things haven’t changed as much as I once thought. I still face adversity. I still cling to my faith. I still believe that someone out there is much worse off than I am.
I don’t know why I’m still here. Right now, it isn’t for me to know. The pastors tell me it’s because God has a plan for me. Since it’s something that they know more about than I do and it sounds like something that will help to get me through, I’ll go with that. Why am I still here? Gods amazing grace.
If you’re looking for great cancer related inspirational stories, I encourage you to visit this site and believe. As for songs, simply because music is such a huge part of my life, I highly recommend that you treat yourself to Kenny Loggins’ Return To Pooh Corner and More Songs From Pooh Corner. They provide comfort, the kind I found in my oldest daughters angelic voice, my youngest daughters little hand holding tight to my shirt when she was little, and the kind I experienced as I watched my grandparents slow dancing to an AM radio on a cold January morning.
{Just as a general reminder- no matter how you found this site, remember that while you may think you know me because of the things I write (though they come from the heart), the fact is, you don’t know me at all. If you want to, feel free to email me and if you don’t, that’s okay too. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers regardless.}
